6/26/2014 0 Comments Dad-Life Out of sheer curiosity and and interest to write something else, I asked my hubs what his "top ten" must-haves would be given the post from yesterday. His list, as I could have guessed, was a lot simpler and much more "on-your-face" being that he is a guy. But, I found the list interesting to say the least, and thought I would share it here to enlighten all of the moms, and give voice to the men we call "dads", because they are in fact, just as important! So, in no particular order, here are my husband's top ten, and a brief description of each! 10. Crayons Our kids are at an age where short independent activities work well. This one is good because I can do it with them and they feel like we've spent quality time together. Plus, some really funny conversations ensue! 9. Toys As much as I hate them sometimes, toys serve their purpose: for kids to play. I love playing with the kids, and love sending them "to play" when I need to do something. 8. Snacks This is self explanatory. But mostly because crying from emotional trauma, physical damage, or mental breakdowns can be cured with a snack. 7. Naps This is where I get to have "me" time if I'm home. So I really like nap time. While my wife would clean or do something around the house, I would rather spend the time playing a video game, watching reruns of "Cops", or doing the deed. 6. Clean house I feel better and more well-equipped when te house is neat. If the house is in disarray, so am I. And I have no one but my wife to thank for it. Speak of the devil...number 5! 5. Wife I couldn't do what I do as a dad if my wife didn't do what she does as a mom. I need her to calm the baby if she's crying, or tell me off the top of her head how much Motrin to give to the toddlers. She can asses and remedy most situations with a text message if and when I'm flying solo. 4. Cable & Wifi I let the kids watch a movie now and again, and I like the tv when I get the chance. Having a game on in the background while we color or play together is convenient too. The wifi comes in handy when one of the kids is up in arms because they disagree with the movie choice. Wifi makes my iPhone a hub for options in such cases. 3. Sex Every guy wants it, and as a dad, I need it. I don't know that I need to explain why. I'm a man, and it doesn't hurt having a smokin hot wife either. The kids play all day, dad gets to play after they go to bed ;)! 2. Butt wipes My wife keeps a tub of wipes on the back of every toilet in the house, as well as at the changing table, on the bottom shelf of the coffee table in the living room, and on our night stand. Basically, there are wipes within reach of every seat in our house. When someone "goes", it's nice to finish the cleaning job with a wipe. Even the girls who are potty-trained. Wiping with paper on a bottom with poo can take quite a while. I'm forever grateful in those situations, or sticky ones, to be able to just grab a wipe when I need one. 1. Play station This serves two purposes. It serves as the multi-media player at our house. Whether it be music, a movie on blu-Ray, or netflix. But it's also my chill center. If I'm home alone, and the kids are napping or in bed, I zone out to video games, and take my mind off of work, stress, life and can just relax. Well there you have it people! A man's list of "must-haves". Any other dads want to weigh in? Leave a comment below! Thanks for reading guys!
