8/9/2014 0 Comments The Booty BinAt our house, diapers and wipes are like air and water at most other houses. I have 2.5 children still currently in diapers, and all of us, including the adults, will use wipes most days, out of convenience. I think I’ve said before that I keep wipes at convenient locations in EVERY room. (In fact, Huggies- which is the wipe we use…includes a new wipe container in every box of jumbo-quantity wipes…which we purchase about once a month, sometimes more.) so I have enough bins to put wipes in like 4 places in every room. Literally, there is a tub on top of all three toilets, in the baby nursery, Wes’s room at the changing table, one in the pack-n-play in out bedroom (or wherever it’s been wheeled to that moment), one on my nightstand, on on the girls’ dresser, in the trunk of the car, in the swim bag on top of the dryer in the laundry room…. But today I thought I would share one of my favorite little storage ideas, that keeps my life running just a bit smoother each day. It’s the BOOTY BIN! I even made a cute little label that says “Booty Bin”, because if you’re like me, when things look cute, I like them more. So, above you can see pictured, a bin that I stocked up and put under the coffee table in the living room. I spend most of my time in the living room, and usually, I’m tracking down 10000000’s of other items and can’t wait to sit down on the couch for .08 seconds and catch my breath. Well with this little beauty I can! I found myself sitting, and just as I would sit, someone inevitably needed a new diaper. To which I would have to not only chase said child down, but I would then be empty handed, needing a diaper, wipes, fancy creams and lotions (said in a nacho librè voice) and it got really annoying to say the least. I tried sending the 3 or 4 y/I for the items....but you probably guessed that they "couldn't find it" when I was holding ankles of a smaller kid in the air, after having opened a pile of poo! Soooo....In the bin, I keep both sizes of diapers, (yes I need 2 different sizes) wipes (duh!), coconut oil (which is my go to diaper cream, face cream, anything-on-anyone’s-skin-is-funny-or-noticeable cream), powder, and Johnson’s lavender lotion (cause the good Lord knows all the kids stink at some point, or me, and it’s like a mini trip to the spa because it smells so heavenly!). This saves my life over and over again. Because every time someone needs their pants changed, everything is at arms length. I still use the changing table. I still use the wipes in the other rooms. I still keeps items like this where they should be. But it’s so useful to keep them where I want to spend most of my time. At the end of the night, when tidying up the house, I will check and re-stock whatever needs replaced, and it’s good to go for the next crazy day! It’s become one of my favorite bins in the house. And so I thought I would share, and maybe make your life easier too!
